Karbonn Mobiles India Private Limited expects to go public by 2016 as it bets on sales of Android devices made in partnership with Google Inc. “Frankly I’ve been delaying it for the last couple of years because I wanted to know my valuation and now my valuation has gone much higher in the last few years,” Chairman Sudhir Hasija told Reuters.

New Delhi: Karbonn Mobiles, India’s third largest smartphone vendor, Tuesday said that it is offering its Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus smartphones at a special price of Rs 11,990 and Rs 13,990, respectively on Snapdeal to celebrate Independence Day. Both Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus are powered by true octa-core processor. The Titanium Octane Plus comes features Android KitKat 4.4 OS, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage.

Karbonn Mobiles has focused on innovations at various levels. Instead of distributing through regional distributors, its distribution channel has heads at the district level. The company has 700 distributors in India. It has also tied up with film producers for rights to Bollywood films and provides these films in a compressed format on its data storage cards. The size to which Karbonn Mobiles is able to compress the films makes it possible to fit in upto 20 movies on a 2 GB card, Hasija claims. He further claims this has helped Karbonn sell upto 3 million data storage cards.
